We have a joke that if something sits still for long enough it will begin to accumulate moss in SW Washington. One of the most common areas for moss build up and damage if the roof of your home and outbuildings.

We like to apply moss removal for roofs and structures before the colder weather arrives. If you have missed applying it in the fall or early Winter don’t worry, there is still time.
You may wonder if you should pressure wash your roof and we do not recommend it. The high pressure from the water can loosen shingles and damage the structural integrity of your roof.
It is recommended to remove moss from your roof as the heavy blanket created by moss build up creates the ideal setting for rot, bacteria and mold growth.

The safest, effective way to remove moss from your roof is with a product like Moss Out for Roofs and Structures. Two cans are usually sufficient when following the manufacturer directions on a 1600-2000 square foot home. The more roof space you have the more you will need.
Removing moss this way protects your roof and extends the life of it by not using high pressure water or allowing moss to build up for too long.
Some of our clients feel comfortable and have the equipment to take care of this each year, but if you do not or have a loved one who is not able to please feel free to give us a call. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
