It happens, we get busy and forget to change out our air filters regularly but it’s actually a very quick and inexpensive way to keep your family healthy and your home too.

Many HVAC manufacturers recommend changing your filters every 30 days. There are multiple reasons for this suggestion as most of us are used to changing them every 3 months. We may want to switch over to changing them each month, here are a few reasons why.
People with allergies or asthma can be affected by a dirty air filter as their lungs are more sensitive to dust and debris.
So many of us have pets, you may have one or a houseful and the hair and dander that is shed can quickly clog filters and impact your air quality. It’s recommended you change your HVAC equipment (filter traps, air filters, furnace filters, as applicable) every 2 months.
The size of your home can impact how often you change your filters but a good rule of thumb is to check them every 30 days. We have found this is a good time line for our family with kids and multiple pets, especially in the winter months.
So many of us are looking for ways to improve our health, sleep and well being. Setting a reminder for simple tasks on a routine basis can help keep our indoor air healthy, as well as extend the life of your HVAC system.

Thank you for reading, stay tuned for an easy trick to save money on heating costs in the winter!
