No matter your heat source, if you have ceiling fans in your home, reversing their direction could help save on heating costs all Winter.

By reversing the flow of air on your ceiling fans you create an updraft that moves warmer air trapped by the ceiling lower and around in the room.
When your ceiling fan is spinning counter clockwise the angled blades are pushing air down and creating a breeze.
Since warm air always rises, reversing the spin on the fan can move heat around more efficiently and you can see a difference in your heating costs by doing so.

Not sure how to do this?
Most ceiling fans have a small switch that allows you to change the direction the blades spin. You may need to remove a couple of small screws to access the controls on your particular brand of fan but the manufacturer website can show exactly where to look as well.
For the best results, try running your fan on a low setting to create air movement and stay warm all winter long. And you may save a few bucks while you are at it, and it only took a few minutes.
